京都 本法寺 巴の庭

この庭園が作られてから約４５０年経ち、庭園が自然災害、諸事情で壊されて失われている部分も沢山あります。

平面図、文献などを読んだうえで、実際に庭園に携わり石、植物に触れて感じた時に、
明らかにこれは　天才　光悦　であるならば、この配置はおかしいと感じる部分があります。
（例えばこの石は元々は立って据えられていた状態であったんだろう　等）

ですが、光悦のこの庭園に対するコンセプト、石の配置、発想は素晴らしいとしか言いようがありません。

この光悦作庭の庭園は約４５０年前に作られたものとは思えない、とても普遍的な変わらない美しさが感じられます。
庭園を見ていると、大変熱心な日蓮宗信者としての光悦が、この庭園に込めた意味も深く読み取れます。

私はこの庭園に携わり芸術家としての光悦に感化されるところがすべてです。
触れるたびにいつも光悦の素晴らしさを感じています。

ところで織部に関する文献から、光悦のことに関する資料は少ないですが
光悦は古田織部の門弟でもあり、言ってみれば織部流の一人でもあります。

私は、同じく織部の弟子である、上田宗箇の茶道に触れる機会が最近多いのですが、
露地の蹲踞（つくばい）も立ち蹲踞で実際に使ってみると、これがまた見た目も、使い勝手も大変素晴らしく思いました。
実は、今年宗箇流の茶庭の作庭に関わることになるのでとても楽しみです。

織部流茶道に触れることで、光悦の芸術家としての幅広い素晴らしさをさらに感じて、
再度こちらの庭園に触れたとき、また新しい別の見え方が出来たように思います。。

文化財庭園に携わる機会を頂くことになった、貫首様、師匠にとても感謝しています。
これからもお施主様に対する尊敬の気持ち、師弟関係に対する思いを更に深め
日々を大事に自己鍛錬していきたいと思います。

Koetsu Hon'ami's landscape garden

Approximately 450 years have passed since this landscape garden was created, so there are many broken and lost parts due to natural disasters or other reasons.

After reading ground plans, documents and so on, at the time of actually getting opportunities to work together in gardens and touching and feeling stones and plants in these gardens, there were some cases I clearly felt the arrangement of gardens odd and fake as long as they were Koetsu's works. (e.g., A stone was originally placed at a standing condition.)
In contrast, I cannot help saying that the concepts and the alignments and viewpoints of stones are splendid.
I can feel universal and invariable beauties from the landscape garden created by Koetsu around 450 years ago from now. It's unbelievable.
Watching this garden, I can deeply read Koetsu's intention in it as a devout believer of Buddhism Nichiren sect.

I was influenced as an artist by Koetsu, engaging in this garden.
Whenever I touch Koetsu's works and pieces, I cannot help feeling greatness of Koetsu.

By the way, there are few descriptions about Koetsu in the documents concerning Oribe, even Koetsu was a disciple of Oribe Furuta and he is one of the members of Oribe school in a sense.

I have many opportunities to participate in tea ceremonies of Soko Ueda school, who is one of Oribe's disciples as well. The type of Tsukubai (Japanese washbasin set) is Tachitsukubai and when actually using it, I felt its appearance and usability were good.

Actually , I'm going to take part in creating a Soko school's tea ceremonies landscape garden used for tea ceremonies this year, so I'm looking forward to it.　

Experiencing Oribe school's tea ceremonies, I felt further tasteful greatness of Koetsu as an artist. When watching and touching this garden again, I could watch it from the other point of view.

I appreciate the priest leader and master who gave me opportunities to work together in cultural gardens.

From now on, continuously respecting clients and cherishing mentoring relationships, I'll make an effort to discipline myself, also cherishing daily limited time.
